Trouble Brewing - Fuzzy Logic Wheat Beer

The Trouble Brewing company based in Kildare, separate themselves from the rest of the crowd with wild, comical labels and witty names. They pride themselves on using only the finest ingredients and brewing with water from their own Well, which I like. They produce a great variety of craft Irish Beers and have an impressive catalogue for a craft brewery. Their "Sabotage India Pale Ale"  is spectacular so I decided to go and try their wheat Beer.

On the nose it is foaming with character with a hint of spice from the cloves added in for extra dynamics and a greater range of taste. Intriguing indeed..

It has a medium body, traditionally cloudy as would be associated with wheat beers. I like to think it's locking in the flavour.

On the Palette it's a bit of a disappointment however with an overpowering taste of cloves which have seemed to rather reinforce the flavour of the wheat as apposed to offering complexity and diversity. The brewery allow for soft fruit flavours and I don't feel this comes through enough in the beer. The finish is unusual and could be described as the feeling you might get if you accidentally missed one of the cloves in your slice of apple tart .

I am huge fan of wheat beers and generally have a high standard of what I like and don't like. Generally most craft wheat beers are superb , the finesse of the mouth feel, almost soothing on the palette, embodied in depth of character. The taste you do not get with mainstream Beers.

Overall Impression.
I wanted this beer to rock and having really enjoyed the Ale I was excited to try it. I feel it could be someones cup of tea but not mine, having tasted many wheat beers this is a little out of the way for me, something which you will either care for or not.

5/10
