O Hara's Irish Red Ale
This is a sensational Irish Red Ale, top quality and without doubt a contender for the best craft Red Ale in the Country,
The Carlow Brewing Company produces a wide range of beers but this Ale is something special in the catalogue of Irish craft Ales.
On the nose it is beautifully rich and tastes of rich Caramel. which comes from the addition of Caramalt in the mashing in process, this sweetness is balanced by the addition of Hops,while its rich deep Red colour is intensified by top quality roast barley. It is refreshing and as with most ales should be enjoyed at 6-8 degrees Celsius slightly higher than what traditionally you would expect to enjoy your beverage at.
On the Palette it is almost chewy from the wonderful complexity of the rich caramel malt, barley and a touch of hops which adds rich character and depth to the Ale. The roast barley during the brewing is tastefully added and lends a characteristic bite which is balanced by a crisp medium bitterness in the finish.
Overall Impression:
Top Quality Irish Red would highly recommend and also good value for money.
