Radikale Hopster Single Hop American Pale Ale
Radikale burst on to the market recently and is growing popularity, which is understandable if you have had the pleasure of sampling it. I first bumped into Radkiale at the Doolin Craft Beer and Roots festival. Alain (The man behind the brew) is a fantastic brewer and his Belgian Dubbel brew is spectacular. Radikale is a Gypsy brewery and produced by Blacks of Kinsale Brewery which is a really smart way of getting a beer onto the market unless you have unless you have endless resources. In any case Radikale has come this far so here we are.
Sweet and fruity on the nose and naturally refreshing finish, the elements of Grapefruit and Pine really give this a distinguished taste. The " Hoppy" finish and pleasant mouth feel make this a beer well equipt for a session and highly recommended. It is unusually dark for an (American Pale Ale) APA but why follow the norm , I poured it straight from the fridge and you can see the condensation on the glass in the picture above, I found as it warmed up 3-4 degrees it was nicer and released more flavour in the beer and reminded me of a lighter more refined Red. Is this an APA for the purist by the "Book" probably not , is this closer to an Amber than an APA,..Probably, but as a review of the beer I'm more than happy to spend my hard earned money on it.
Radikale Range of Beers: 500ml 5.2%
Hopster was brewed at Black's of Kinsale rather than Blackwater Distillery. All three Radik Ale beers so far have been produced at different breweries.
ReplyDeleteAh right I didn't know that actually thought he would have just ran with one brewery, Thanks ! :)
