8 Degrees Brewing - Neon and Velvet FPA
As I sit here sipping this Fruity Pale Ale, I'm reminded that Spring has come and the although the weather has been typically Irish, for just one day we got a blast of Sun.
Days like this bring me to the pared back and beautiful headland of Helvic Head in County Waterford.
As I spent time here I feel Ireland is utterly beautiful and the minimalist surrounding of natural beauty are complemented by this inspired Ale.
This Fruity Zesty Pale Ale has a blossom of the tastes of Summer Fruits and with the bite from the delicious Kiwi and sharpness from the Lime working in a perfectly balanced harmony, this combination with Amarillo and Citrus hops whilst being dry hopped the epic Pacific Jade and Motueka Hops from the home of the Kiwi makes for an inspired release.
The 8 Degrees Brewing team have carefully captured all the tastes, aroma and emotion of Summer and packed them all into this epic release, a brewery which is no stranger to pushing the boundaries of brewing and unlocking the combinations which we all cherish.
This release as advertised, is on the Palette velvety, smooth and also crisp, the finish is sweet and smooth with an aroma of Citra Hops and the fruits of Summer.
I find this beer to be perfectly released for this time of year and although I would suggest it is geared towards a warm sunny summer day, it has a secondary audience in that of the Craft Beer lover who prefers the infusions of the ingredients to shine through as apposed to a strong sharp bite as we find in traditional Pale ales.
I have been a long term fan of this Brewery, I have the T-Shirt to match the Glass and even in such a saturated market, the cream always rises to the top.
